Tai chi history

Forms of Tai chi

The Yang style involves 24 moves in the simple form and 108 moves in the traditional variety. It requires a wide posture with bent knees. And, the Wu style consists of 24 to 36 movements in the modern form and 100 movements in the traditional form. It is simpler than the Yang style as it uses a high and narrow stance, and the knees are not much bent. The Wu style is good for beginners who want to improve their balance. All the three styles are followed with slow and steady movements.

No matter which type of Tai chi is practiced, it still remains popular and is widely practiced by martial arts enthusiasts.
